Homosexuality, Which Homosexuality?

International Conference on Gay and Lesbian Studies (1987 Amsterdam, Netherlands)

"The book is a searching analysis of this question: Are there simply homosexual and lesbian desires and acts or are there homosexuals and lesbians? The 'social constructionists' embrace the noun. It is the essentialist view upon which the homosexual rights movement has been based for over a century, that is profoundly challenged in these essays. In very literate and penetrating prose by authors of international repute. From several disciplinary and social perspectives the momentous and even painful personal research and political implications of this debate for all sexuality, whether heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual are brought home to the reader. The book is mandatory for those engaged in scientific research or political advocacy."--John P. de Cecco Ph. D.
