Aboriginal art

Wally Caruana

"This lively and comprehensive survey has established itself as a superlative introduction to the full diversity of Aboriginal art, and showcases work by Australia's indigenous artists from all parts of the continent. Practising the world's longest continuous art tradition, stretching back some fifty millennia, Aboriginal artists have worked in a variety of contexts, from the sacred realm of ceremony to more public spheres, and in media that include painting, sculpture, engraving, constructions, weaving, and - most recently - photography, printmaking and textile design."--BOOK JACKET.
